Charles Pinet (1867-1932) was born in Paris, France. He attended the College of Thoissey in Ain where he received a bachelor’s degree. He studied printmaking, specifically etching with Canon Paul Taconnet and Gustave Moreau. Eventually, he moved back to Paris where he devoted himself to the medium of etching. Although he traveled the European continent as well as North Africa, his major focus was France. His art captured the major cities and notable sites we associate with France. He was a prolific artist and upon his death in 1932, he left a legacy of graphic images from his beloved country.
