Here is your opportunity to own a piece of British history with the early 19th century Coalport tureen in one of their oldest designs, the Thumb and Finger Imari pattern. This is a fine example of the English interpretation of the tobacco leaf so widely celebrated amongst the chinoiserie styles. This piece has dramatic foliate handles and a golden apple finial with a raised leaf adornment. In excellent condition and extremely rare, this pattern is seen online elsewhere in the thousands. As expected with an item of this age some minor wear to the gilding and hand painted design, but still presents magnificently! Measures 12" handle to handle and 10" to the top of the apple finial on the lid, with a 9" diameter to the interior opening.
