A charming antique English Davenport covered toothbrush holder in the desirable Alhambra pattern. Beautifully decorated with soft pink panels, black transfer floral motifs, and flowing Art Nouveau-inspired scrollwork, this divided earthenware piece dates to the late Victorian or early Edwardian era. The pierced lid was designed to hold toothbrushes upright while the divided interior kept them neatly separated, making it an elegant fixture on a washstand. Today, it makes a wonderful decorative accent in a bathroom or dressing room and can also be repurposed to hold makeup brushes, paintbrushes, or other small accessories. Measuring 8” L x 3.75” W, it is marked Davenport – Alhambra on the underside and retains the fine decorative detail that made Davenport one of England’s most respected pottery manufacturers. Light wear and age-related crazing are consistent with its antique character.
