A charming set of seven antique English earthenware saucers by Hope & Carter of Staffordshire, dating to the latter half of the 19th century. Each features the maker’s colorful “Chinese Pattern,” with a garden scene surrounded by floral decoration in soft shades of pink, green, blue and gold; four retain the H&C backstamp while three are unmarked. Without their original cups, these 5” diameter saucers make wonderful decorative pieces for layering into a collected table setting, displaying on a plate rack or wall, or repurposing as small dishes for jewelry, soaps, candles, sweets or other trinkets. Antique condition with age-related crazing; no significant chips or cracks.
