A striking late 19th to early 20th century English punch bowl, crafted in hammered copper with a raised pedestal base, rope-twist borders, cast lion-mask ring handles and applied antique coin medallions. Originally silver plated over copper, generations of use have revealed the warm copper beneath, with traces of the original finish remaining in protected areas. The substantial construction and abundance of applied detailing give this approximately 10” diameter x 7” high bowl wonderful presence, whether displayed on its own or used decoratively as a centerpiece. Unmarked, with surface wear, patina and oxidation consistent with age and its original plated finish.
