A handsome pair of antique brass taper candlesticks, likely French, dating to the late 19th century. Each candlestick features a decorative urn-form stem, floral bobèche, beaded base, and scrolling foliate detail, giving the pair a refined Continental look.
Beautifully scaled for a mantel, dining table, desk, or layered bookshelf display, these have the warmth and quiet patina that only comes with age. The candlesticks are constructed in the traditional manner with threaded rods and assembled brass components.
Age-appropriate patina throughout, including oxidation to the undersides. As is common with assembled antique brass candlesticks, the components do not align perfectly straight from every angle, giving the pair a subtle irregularity consistent with age and construction.
