A rare and beautifully preserved ceramic toothbrush holder by Petrus Regout & Co., produced in Maastricht, Holland during the late 19th to early 20th century. Featuring a classic divided basin with drain holes and a domed lid, the piece is finished in a soft ivory glaze with a distinctive lavender border and handle, a refined nod to early European bathroom ware design.
Stamped on the underside with the crowned lion mark of Petrus Regout, this piece dates to approximately 1880–1910, when Regout was among the leading Dutch ceramic manufacturers. Originally part of a coordinated washstand set, this holder was designed to keep toothbrushes elevated, clean, and dry—an early innovation in personal hygiene.
Excellent structural condition with only minor signs of age consistent with over a century of careful use.
