This rare milk glass apothecary jar made for Jean Vivaudou of the Orloff Perfumery, is a timeless artifact from the golden age of personal fragrance. With its luminous opaline glass and refined silhouette, it once housed luxurious powders or scented creams, crafted by one of the most distinguished names in early 20th-century beauty. Following in his father’s footsteps, Jean produced a line of fragrances from the 1920s to the 1940s. Originally wanting to pursue an education in New York, his father Victor encouraged him instead to make a living.
A rare surviving example of Vivaudou’s legacy, this jar is a true collector’s piece - perfect for antique beauty lovers, apothecary collectors, or those drawn to the romance of vintage French decor. Use this to hold a candle, specialty teas, candy or even a small plant or bouquet. In excellent condition with the gold border completely gone, though its absence makes this piece even more versatile. Measures approximately 6.5” high with the lid on.
